2Exalt ("we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina. We operate the website located at 2exalt.org (the "Site") and are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits, joins our community, or supports our work.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your own data. By using our Site you agree to the practices described in this document.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

When you sign up for our email list, we collect your name and email address. This is the primary way we collect personal information and we collect only what is necessary to communicate with you.

We do not directly collect payment or financial information. All donations are processed through Donorbox and Stripe, each of which maintains its own privacy policy and security standards. We encourage you to review their policies at donorbox.org and stripe.com.

Information collected automatically:

When you visit our Site, certain information may be collected automatically by your browser and our hosting platform, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the time and date of your visit. This information is used for basic site functionality and security purposes.

We do not currently use third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics. Should we introduce analytics tools in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes and you will be notified via our email list.

Cookies:

Our Site may use cookies — small text files stored on your device — to support basic site functionality. We do not currently use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes. Should our cookie practices change, this policy will be updated accordingly.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To send you email communications including event announcements, content updates, community news, and organizational updates you have opted into

• To respond to inquiries submitted through our contact page

• To process and acknowledge donations made through our third-party payment processors

• To operate, maintain, and improve our Site and community

• To comply with legal obligations applicable to nonprofit organizations

We will never use your information for purposes beyond those described here without your explicit consent.

4. How We Share Your Information

2Exalt does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. Ever.

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: We work with third-party platforms including Donorbox and Stripe to process donations, and Google to host our website and manage our email list. These providers access your information only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies and data protection standards.

Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of 2Exalt, our community members, or the public.

Organizational successors: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of organizational assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email if this occurs.

5. Email Communications

When you join our email list you are consenting to receive communications from 2Exalt. These may include event announcements, content updates, organizational news, and fundraising appeals.

You may unsubscribe from our email list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every email we send, or by contacting us directly at hello@2exalt.org. We will process your request promptly.

Unsubscribing from our email list does not delete your information from our records entirely. If you would like your information fully removed, please see Section 7 below.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to maintain our organizational records, and to comply with legal obligations applicable to nonprofit organizations.

Donor records are retained for a minimum of seven years in accordance with IRS requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations.

If you request deletion of your information, we will remove what we are legally permitted to remove and inform you of anything we are required to retain.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to any legal retention requirements.

Opt-out: You may opt out of email communications at any time as described in Section 5.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Site and community are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at hello@2exalt.org.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our Site operates over HTTPS, which encrypts data transmitted between your browser and our servers.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites including YouTube, Instagram, Donorbox, and others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.

11. Analytics and Tracking (Future Use)

We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising tracking tools on our Site. Should we introduce such tools in the future — including but not limited to Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar — we will update this policy, add a cookie consent notice to our Site, and notify our email community of the change before it takes effect.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or organizational operations. When we make material changes we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document and notify our email community.

Your continued use of our Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
